Husbandry

A high percentage of the Membership of the NCHS interests extend  beyond field observation and study of Herps.  Many if not most of the membership keep herps in captivity.  The Society has started these Care Sheet pages in an effort to promote the best possible care of captive herps, both native and exotic.
Specific care questions can be addressed to Tony Leiro Committee Chairman of the NCHS Husbandry Committee.

The first Care Sheets were added in February 2004, more of both native and exotic herps, are being added weekly.  Check back if the Care Sheet you need is not included yet.  Or better still, author your own original Care Sheet for animals you have extensive husbandry experience with and email the file as a .doc attachment to Tony Leiro the NCHS Husbandry Committee Chairman so it can be shared with others interested in keeping Herps.
