Help with the work of NCWU!
North Carolina Women United has an ongoing need for volunteers and interns
who want to make contributions to advance its goals. While we are always looking
for contacts across the state to organize local meetings and encourage attendance
at Women's Advocacy Days, here are some opportunities to serve NCWU as a whole:
- Program Committee
- This is the committee that handles the logistics in preparing for local meetings
and Advocacy Days. If you're interested in grassroots organizing, event coordination,
or preparing position papers and our report cards to educate those concerned with
our issues, find a spot here.
- Finance Committee
- As a growing, dynamic organization we need additional help with our finances.
There are opportunities for short term/one time projects (reviewing financial
statements; preparing tax returns; setting up our financial policies) or longer
term involvement in fiscal oversight and planning.
- Communications Committee
- We thrive on a rich set of communications tools - e-mail lists, the web site,
an "Intranet" and an occasional newsletter. We need those with communications
skills in electronic and print media to help maintain and upgrade these systems.
- Membership Committee
- If you want to learn more about NCWU and prepare to "sell" its many
benefits to new organizations and individual supporters, consider volunteering
for the membership committee.

Please contact info@ncwu.org for more information
on these positions.
NCWU is an all-volunteer coalition of organizations that share
a vision using public policy to make a difference for the women of North Carolina.
Those affiliated with the NCWU member organizations
and women students in NC universities are particularly encouraged to contact us
for more information about any of these opportunities. Some formal internships,
primarily for those with an interest in women's public policy issues, are also
available through NCWU member organizations. Contact info@ncwu.org.
