Job:  Manager Health Library

Job Description: 

The Manager of the Health Library is responsible for planning and
implementing library functions, information management, and dissemination
and support of Presbyterian Hospital Huntersville in education and community
involvement. Masters degree in Library of Information Science from an
American Library Association accredited school. Biomedical librarianship or
equivalent preferred; membership in a professional library association
preferred. At least seven years in a hospital, public or academic library.
Experience in consumer health required. Library administration experience
preferred. Knowledge, skills and abilities: Thorough knowledge in all
aspects of library procedures and operations; excellent planning,
communications, organizational, programming, financial management,
leadership skills; demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently
coordinate/manage multiple activities at the same time; some knowledge of
audiovisual materials; considerable knowledge of medical terminology;
ability to develop rapport with others; ability to interact with all
cultures and levels of authority. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS; Sedentary Work -
lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects, including
the human body, weighing up to 10 pounds occasionally (Occasionally:
activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible
amount of weight frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from
1/3 to 2/3 of the time). Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time,
but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are
sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all
other sedentary criteria are met.
