This is to follow up on my ealier message below.   There has been some
additional confusion about how to get the meeting rate when making hotel
reservations by phone.   The following message from the Sheraton sales rep
should clarify the process:

You do not need a promotion code when calling the 800 #.  The guests just
need to let them know that they are calling for the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of
the Medical Library Assn.  We do not have it listed as MAC in our computer
system.

If you are planning to make reservations at the Sheraton Raleigh Capital
Center Hotel for the MAC meeting, please do so by calling (919) 834-9900 or
(800) 325-3535.     Several months ago we experimented with Sheraton's
online registration process and use of a promotion code for obtaining
meeting rates.   While it was possible to get the online registration to
work correctly for the reduced rates, there were also a couple of
possibilities for wrong turns along the way that someone registering could
potentially encounter.    Our conclusion was therefore to rely soley on the
telephone for making hotel reservations.   Please let me know if I can
provide any additional information.
