Hello all,
Once again the medical library community will be participating in La Fiesta del Pueblo, the largest gathering of Latinos in North Carolina. The RML is unable to send a person to lead the exhibit this year but we found a fantastic person to lead the way, Rachel Wiefert from UNC-Chapel Hill.
The exhibit will be highlighting MEDLINEplus.gov, NCHealthInfo.org, and the wonderful consumer health services of local medical libraries. Latinos are a fast growing population in North Carolina, in fact, the current president of the student chapter of the National Hispanic Medical Association is a medical student at Duke University.
Take time out of your busy schedules on September 11-12, 2004, to participate in the NNLM/UNC booth at La Fiesta Del Pueblo on the North Carolina State Fair Grounds. It will be an extremely rewarding experience. You will be reimbursed travel expenses, receive a wonderful NLM gift, and be eligible for two AHIP points. Please review the following schedule to see if you are available to volunteer.
Saturday, September 11, 2004
12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Sunday, September 12, 2004
12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Thanks in advance,
Toni
