Please forgive cross postings--

Archie Willard was a featured speaker at a recent conference, “Health
and Literacy Working Together: A Health Literacy Conference for New
Readers & Health Professionals,” in Des Moines, Iowa. It brought
together adults who are learning to read and health providers (doctors,
nurses, public health specialists, and others who communicate health
information) to find ways to improve health understanding. Here is a pdf
file describing the conference:

I am happy to report that Mr. Willard has agreed to give us a
presentation on his perspective as an adult learner regarding health
literacy matters. Mr. Willard will speak at the UNC-Chapel Hill Health
Sciences Library on Feb. 9th from 12:30 - 2:00 in the 5th floor
conference room. Registration is strongly encouraged. Go to:
http://www.hsl.unc.edu/services/classes/classregistration.cfm and chose
Event Registration.

Please come and listen to his important message.

Thank you,
