ANCHASL Travel Scholarship 

In order to help defray the costs of attending meetings, program and 
conferences for students and librarians with limited travel budgets, 
ANCHASL (the Association of North Carolina Health and Science Libraries) 
has established a Continuing Education Scholarship Program.  Eligible 
applicants who are approved for an award, will be reimbursed for their 
registration fees and a portion of their travel expenses to attend a 
specified medical or health sciences library event.


To be eligible for a Continuing Education Scholarship Program award, you 
must be: 

·a current member of ANCHASL
·a North Carolina resident or working at a library or information services 
organization located within the state of North Carolina
·employed fewer than five (5) years in the library science field or 
graduated from a library or information science degree program within the 
last five (5) 
   years

Student applicants must be enrolled in a library and information degree 
program within the state of North Carolina.

We begin this program with an invitation to those who are planning on 
attending the ANCHASL Spring Meeting on April 1, 2005 in Greensboro, NC. 
The topic for the meeting will be Open Access and how it affects 
libraries, authors and publishers.  Go to the ANCHASL web site at http://www.rtpnet.org/~anchasl/  for more details about the meeting and invited speakers.

To apply for an award to attend this meeting, please complete the attached 
form and send to the chair of the CE Scholarship Program at the address 
listed below.  The deadline for submissions is March 14th.  All applicants, both approved and unapproved, will be notified no later 
than March 21st.  Reimbursements will be made to approved applicants after they have submitted receipts for their expenses.
