Maybe it's an effort to escape the newly arrived summer heat but we are
already thinking ahead to fall!
NC Health Info at the UNC Health Sciences Library has just received an
NN/LM subcontract to exhibit again this year at La Fiesta del Pueblo.
For those who are not familiar with this event, La Fiesta del Pueblo is
a two-day celebration of Latin American culture and features music,
dancing and art exhibits as well as a health fair. This year the
festival takes place Sept 10-11 at the State Fair Grounds in Raleigh.
This will be the third year that NC Health Info has participated in the
health fair exhibiting not only NCHI but also promoting the Spanish
version of MedlinePlus and other NLM consumer health services.
The past two years the booth has been manned by a great group of ANCHASL
members and we hope that some of you will be interested in participating
again. All volunteers will receive 2 AHIP points plus reimbursement of
expenses (mileage, meals).
I'll send out an official call for volunteers later this summer but I
wanted to give you a heads up now so that you can save the date if you
think you might be interested. Please contact either Christie Silbajoris
(silbc at email.unc.edu) or myself if you have any questions.
Thanks & happy summer,
Rachel Wilfert
