Position Available: Resource Indexer
Part-time temporary, available immediately (August 2005)

Description:
Information specialists at the National Center for Child Traumatic Stress 
(located at Duke University offices at Brightleaf Square, Durham, North 
Carolina) are implementing a digital collaboration project using the 
open-source Scout Portal Toolkit and seek a part-time indexer to assist in 
the development process.   This is an opportunity to apply information 
skills in the creation of catalog of diverse resources, while learning and 
contributing to the implementation of a unique collaborative tool.

Position available immediately through Sept. 30th, with extension and 
expanded  hours anticipated.

Duties:
o       Index resources for input into the database
o       Assist in writing and maintaining system documentation
o       Assist in developing online help systems and training for collaborators
o       Assist with launch and dissemination of the project to the National Child 
Traumatic Stress Network 
o 
Qualifications:
Graduate work in information/library science, experience in cataloging 
and/or metadata concepts, training and writing for user education. Ability 
to work effectively with minimal direction, excellent written 
communication skills, and attention to detail.    HTML skills a plus.

Hours: 
12-15 hrs./week, flexible schedule.

Pay: 
$10-$12/hr. depending on qualifications and experience.
