The Mountain Area Health Education Center Health Sciences Library, in Asheville, NC, seeks an enthusiastic, self-motivated, flexible, service-oriented Information Professional for providing client-centered services within our organization and throughout our 16-county region.  The wide range of responsibilities of this position includes promotion of library and information resources and services, group and one-on-one instruction, in-depth consultation, liaison services, reference service, book and audiovisual collection management, reference and circulation services, and coordination of the Community Health Assessment Database.
 
Required: ALA-accredited MLS or equivalent information science degree; strong interpersonal, organizational, technical, communication and instructional skills; the ability to work independently and collegially; strong commitment to client service and to ongoing professional development; proficiency in online searching and systems such as OVID and PubMed; valid driver's license.
Preferred: Three years or equivalent experience in health sciences library setting.
 
The Health Sciences Library is located in the Blue Ridge Mountain area of western North Carolina and serves the health care workforce in 16 counties. The Health Sciences Library supports participation in professional activities and publication.  The Mountain Area Health Education Center is a member of the 9-institution statewide AHEC system, and is affiliated with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Salary and benefits: The salary range for this position is $32K-41K; MAHEC offers a generous benefits package.
