Hello all you faithful ANCHASL members. At long last we are able to
make the announcement you have all been waiting for. ANCHASL now brings
you access to the professional edition of SurveyMonkey as a member
benefit!!!

What is SurveyMonkey, you might ask? In their own words, SurveyMonkey
is:

Intelligent survey software for serious primates of all species.
SurveyMonkey has a single purpose: to enable anyone to create
professional online surveys quickly and easily.

To see for yourself, go to their website, www.surveymonkey.com
<http://www.surveymonkey.com/> .

To learn about the added features of the professional version, go to

http://www.surveymonkey.com/AdvancedFeatures.asp
<http://www.surveymonkey.com/AdvancedFeatures.asp>

There are some guidelines we all need to follow, since we will all be
using the same subscription. These guidelines have been approved by
your Executive Board. This is a new venture for us, so things might
need to be tweaked a bit as we go along. The Guidelines will be posted
on our website, and they are also included as an attachment to this
message. (If you have trouble with the attachment, let me know, and I
will fax you a copy.)

We are modeling our SurveyMonkey benefit on the way the Pacific
Northwest Chapter of MLA set up their project, and we thank them for
their leadership and guidance in this endeavor. You can read about
their project in the May, 2004 issue of MLA News.

Dolores Judkins, from the Oregon Health Sciences Library, one of the
developers of this project in the PNC/MLA, will be instructing our Fall
CE class in November, "Surveys Made Easy," on surveys and SurveyMonkey,
so the addition of this benefit is very timely.

To obtain the password to the expanded version, after you have read the
attached Guidelines, if you are a current paid member please contact our
Membership Chair, Burnette Bell, at

Remember this is a shared password, but we can all set up as many
individual surveys as we want.

I encourage you to play around with the free version of SurveyMonkey
prior to attending our program on November 11, so you will come to the
program with some background. Prior familiarity with SurveyMonkey is
not required to take the class, but may enable you to get a little more
from it.
