As a co-owner of an independent bookstore, this is a request for consideration of incentives for future surveys. Amazon is, of course, very easy and convenient - and loads of fun. You do, however, have an option for supporting your locally-owned, community-based bookstores with Book Sense - http://booksense.com/ . Book Sense has independent member bookstores in North Carolina from Murphy to Duck. Many Book Sense member bookstores will accept gift cards online, and all will welcome in-person browsers.

We are surveying library practioners who have used web based surveys to
see how effective you found the tools to be, and whether the way you
conduct your surveys has changed as a result. Summaries of this
information will help guide the practice of many library and information
professionals who are considering using online survey software.
Your participation is voluntary. You may stop participating at any time.
You may skip any question you choose not to answer for any reason.
Your answers are completely confidential and will be reported
anonymously. All person information (needed only for compensation
purposes) is password protected at all times.
All research on human volunteers is reviewed by a committee that works
to protect your rights and welfare. If you have questions or concerns
about your rights as a research subject you may contact, anonymously if
you wish, the Institutional Review Board at 919-966-3113 or by email to
