[Anchasl-l] Mid-Atlantic Chapter of MLA: Conference Scholars Program, Deadline: August 25, 2006

  The Membership Committee of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter (MAC) of the 
Medical Library Association invites library and information science 
students, paraprofessionals, and new librarians to apply for a 
conference scholarship to attend the 2006 MAC Annual Meeting

The meeting will be held from October 12 - 16, 2006 in Atlanta, GA at 
the Westin Buckhead Hotel

This is a joint meeting between the Southern Chapter of MLA 
<http://www.scmla.org/> and the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of MLA 
<http://www.cbil.vcu.edu/mac/index.html>. One scholarship will be awarded.

*Requirements*
Perspective applicants must meet the following criteria:

    * Has never attended an MAC/MLA Annual meeting
    * Be a student currently enrolled either full or part-time in an
      ALA-accredited Masters program, a paraprofessional who works in a
      health science library, or a new librarian with no more than 3
      years experience.
    * Willing to consider or have expressed an interest in pursuing a
      career in health sciences librarianship
    *  Agree to submit a one-page report detailing their experience and
      impression of the program
    * Paraprofessionals must hold an undergraduate degree
    *  Must be able to attend entire conference from October 12-16, 2006
    * Must live or work in the MAC/MLA region: District of Columbia,
      Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia**

* *The selected recipient will receive complimentary conference 
registration, which includes most meals, lodging at the conference 
hotel, and MAC/MLA membership, and $200 stipend.

  ***Submission Guideline*: To be considered for this award, send a 
1page letter of interest specifying your interest in participating in 
the Conference Scholars program. Submit letter of interest via email to 
Shannon Jones, shdejones at cs.com by August 25, 2006. Notification about 
the award will be sent by September 05, 2006.
