is recruiting for a

Special Collections Librarian

The Health Sciences Library at the University of North Carolina at 
Chapel Hill seeks a knowledgeable, energetic, highly motivated person to 
provide leadership for ongoing development of and digital access to the 
Library’s growing special collections.  This new position was created to 
respond to increasingly enthusiastic and dedicated support for special 
collections from faculty and other supporters.

The person in this position has a wonderful opportunity to take a 
successful program and raise it to its next level by

•Working closely with faculty, library staff, donors, and dealers to 
build and strengthen the history of the health sciences and other 
special collections;
•Promoting innovative techniques for processing and providing access to 
special collections, particularly content in digital formats;
•Seeking external funding for special projects.

This position is a one year appointment with a possibility for 
reappointment.
