MEDICAL LIBRARIAN:
INFORMATION RESOURCES SPECIALIST
INFORMATIONACCESS CENTER
 
Full-time exempt position:  MLS degree from an ALA accredited library school.  Responsible for the provision of information resource services to Southern Regional-AHEC faculty, residents and staff and to regional health professionals and students, and regional health care agencies and institutions in a nine-county region; provides reference support to users through the use of a variety of knowledge based information resources in a variety of formats; works with the Director, IAC in the selection and development of the information resources collection; promotes the use of knowledge-based resources by health professionals and students through the proactive selective dissemination of information services; partners with other department personnel in training individuals, including the Family Practice residents, in the use of technology and information resources and systems; works with the Director, IAC to plan, develop, implement, and market new, innovative information services and programs; serves as Project Manager for special projects, grants or subcontracts for the IAC; participates in various NC AHEC Information and Library System (ILS), AHEC Digital Library, and NC AHEC Libraries Catalog Consortium meetings, projects, and committees.  Requires excellent organizational and customer-relations skills, and must be team-oriented.  Applicant must have a good knowledge of computer programs (MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) and have the ability to work with a variety of people.  EOE.  Submit resume with references to:
