Greetings,

This is a great opportunity to
present library research, right here in our area. We hope you will
consider participating, and spread the word to others. You can also save
the date; this is a free conference, and no registration is required.

Please let me know if you have any questions and we hope to see you in May.

Best,
Lara Handler,
Chair of LAUNC-CH Professional Development Committee

The Librarians’ Association at UNC-Chapel Hill (LAUNC-CH) invites
proposals for papers and posters to be presented at the Annual LAUNC-CH
Research Forum. The Forum will be held *Wednesday, May 5, 2010,* from
1-4 pm, in the Hitchcock Room of the Sonja Haynes Stone Center on the
campus of UNC-Chapel Hill.

Papers should address research (broadly interpreted) in library and
information science (LIS). Topics may include but are not limited to
successful cost-cutting measures, collaborative projects, and
implementations of programs and services. Presentations of selected
papers should not exceed twenty minutes.

Posters provide opportunities to present LIS research-in-progress,
projects, the implementation of new programs and services, or other
efforts that would benefit from a discussion with the community.

We encourage submissions from librarians, library staff members, and
information and library science faculty, students, and staff.

Posters will be displayed on 6’ tables and should be mounted on
free-standing poster boards. Poster presenters will be expected to
arrive early to set up their posters and to stand by them during the
session to answer questions. Handouts are encouraged.

For suggestions on poster design, format, and content, please review
this information from the UNC Health Sciences Library and/or the Society
for Industrial and Applied Mathematics:

*This is a good opportunity to present your research with little or no
travel required!*
