MJ Tooey, Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, Executive Director of the Health Sciences and Human Services Library at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and  president of the Medical Library Association (MLA) 2005-2006, will be sharing her experience and observations on staying positive and thriving in tough economic times. Ms. Tooey has insight on the challenges medical libraries are facing. She chaired the Vital Pathways Task Force of MLA which resulted in the October 2009 symposium on the future of hospital librarians in the Journal of the Medical Library Association. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Association of Academic Health Sciences Libraries (AAHSL). She was recently elected to a three year term on the Lyrasis Board of Trustees. Most recently, in January 2010, Ms. Tooey published an article titled Renovated, repurposed, and still "one sweet library": a case study on loss of space from the Health Sciences and Human Services Library, University of Maryland, Baltimore, in the Journal of the Medical Library Association
