If you are planning to attend the ANCHASL 2011 Fall Meeting and/or the MAC 2011 Annual Meeting, please consider applying for one of the scholarships being offered by the ANCHASL Scholarship Committee. Because the meeting dates are so close together, we are running the scholarship application for both events simultaneously.
1) ANCHASL 2011 Fall Meeting and NLM Exhibit Tour: "Losing Space? Challenges and Creative Solutions!" This meeting will be held on September 16, 2011 in Greenville, NC. Meeting details are at http://www.anchasl.org/index.shtml.
The Board has authorized the Scholarship Committee to award up to three scholarships for this meeting. The award will cover your registration and part of your travel expenses. Recipients with a short commute will receive an award of $75. In order to encourage participation by those members living more than 90 miles from the meeting location, an additional $100 will be made available to them for travel costs, for an award amount of $175.
2) MAC 2011 Annual Meeting, October 10-12, 2011 in Richmond, VA. Meeting details are at http://www.library.vcu.edu/events/mac2011/index.html. The Board has authorized the Scholarship Committee to award two scholarships of up to $265 each (or more scholarships, if those who apply are requesting smaller $ amounts--e.g., for a C.E. course only).
Application forms for both meetings are attached below. Complete and return the relevant form(s)* to me by the end of the day (midnight) on Friday, August 26. (The applications will also be available on the ANCHASL Scholarship Committee Web site ( http://www.anchasl.org/scholarship.shtml ) soon.) We'll notify recipients by Wednesday, August 31, before any early registration deadlines.
Carol Vreeland, Chair
ANCHASL Scholarship Committee
*You may submit applications for both meetings if you want. However, an applicant is limited to just one scholarship per calendar year, so I would recommend that you rank your applications in order of preference.
