Hello Everyone!

Over the past 10 months 24 regions have come forward and formed local
area user group meetings! Most of the regions are already meeting
regularly. Several regions are planning their first meeting, and a few
are looking for additional users who would like to participate before
they have their first meeting.

Our newest region is Sacramento California. if you are located in
Sacramento and are interested in participating, please contact Laurel
Espell at laurel.espell at post.ca.gov.

Below you will find the complete list of 24 regions. Please email the
contact listed for the region you would like to participate in, or
obtain additional infomation about the group. You can also find an
updated list on the EOS.Web Online Help Portal (click the "?" icon from
your EOS.Web main menu, then scroll down and click the button called
"Local Area User Group"). The Help Portal will contain status
information about the various groups as it is available.

Finally, if you are interested in forming a local area user group in
your own area, please contact our Client Services group at 888-728-8746
or email us at: support at eosintl.com <mailto:support at eosintl.com> and we
will help you connect with other users in your area. The EOS Community
Forum is also a good way to network with other EOS.Web users, or to post
your interest in forming local area user groups. Register for the
EOS.Web Community Forum at: http://eoscommunity.lefora.com/

Best Practices Implemented by EOS.Web Local Area User Groups

1.	There is no minimum or maximum group size. Some groups meet with
as few as 2 or 3 users.
2.	The frequency of meetings should be determined by group member
vote. Some groups meet as often as monthly, others quarterly, others "as
needed".
3.	The meeting length should also be determined by group member
vote, and should be respectful of members time available and other
commitments. Some groups meet over lunch for 1 hour (everyone brings
their own lunch), others mid-day for 2 hours, and some quarterly groups
meet for 3-4 hours and arrange for lunch to be provided.
4.	An agenda of the meeting should be determined by the group via
email prior to the actual meeting, and emailed to every group member by
the facilitator of the upcoming meeting.
5.	User groups may wish to spend the first portion of their
meetings with a brief "meet and greet" from each library. It is
recommended that groups spend the majority of the meeting discussing
current issues, as well as product enhancements.

	*	Topics from the agenda (determined prior to each
meeting) can be assigned to a user to facilitate the discussion. Some of
the groups make an informal presentation on their use of a given EOS.Web
module, or feature(s) within the product. A member of the group presents
their use of the feature to the other group members to show how it is
solving a need in their library. Often this will help other users to
begin to incorporate existing (and sometimes unknown) features of
EOS.Web in their library.
	*	A portion of the meeting should include discussion of
needed enhancements. EOS.Web's Online Help Portal allows each library to
make enhancement suggestions, as well as Vote on suggestions. The
suggestions with the highest votes are what EOS picks for upcoming
sprint releases. With multiple users attending a local area user group,
and assuming most or all of the users agree on enhancements that are
discussed in the meetings, the user group can greatly influence how
quickly a given suggestion is incorporated into the product if the users
collectively and favorably vote on the suggestion(s) discussed.

6.	Some groups span a large geographic area and it is not always
possible for members to travel the distance. It is recommended that
whenever possible, the facilitator of the meeting incorporate a remote
meeting product such as WebEx or Live Meeting, so that remote users can
attend the meeting virtually.
7.	When possible, incorporate sufficient time for a quick tour of
the library with the facilitator pointing out areas of interest where
they have found unique solutions to common issues.
8.	At the end of the meeting the group should determine who will
host and facilitate the next meeting, and set the date/time or general
timeframe, and scope of the meeting.
9.	EOS Client Services is available to attend a portion of the
meeting virtually, to answer questions, discuss topics, and provide
brief product training as requested for specific product areas. To make
arrangements, please contact Jeff Smith, VP of Client Services, at:
jsmith at eosintl.com or 800-876-5484 x169.
