2. The Z. Smith Reynolds Library at Wake Forest University has an opening
for an Instruction Librarian. This position will serve as one of the
primary instructors in our for-credit information literacy classes,

Z. Smith Reynolds (ZSR) Library, winner of the 2011 ACRL Excellence in
Academic Libraries award, seeks an exceptional student-centered librarian
to join the Research & Instruction team beginning on July 1st, 2013. The
successful candidate will be energetic, team-oriented, and knowledgeable of
best practices in information literacy instruction and will strive to help
ZSR promote its mission “to help our students, faculty and staff succeed.”



The Librarian, Research & Instruction serves as a primary instructor in our
information literacy program, teaching up to six sections of our elective
credit-bearing information literacy course each semester.   Guided by best
practices in information literacy and pedagogy, the Librarian will be
responsible for creating course materials, conducting classes and
evaluating and assessing student progress. In collaboration with the other
instructors in the program, the Librarian will be responsible for updating
the course curriculum on a regular basis to best meet the needs of our
students. The Librarian will also provide general reference service both
virtually and in-person for students, faculty, and University community.



This is a twelve month position, with Library Faculty status at the rank of
Lecturer, reporting to the Director for Research and Instruction Services
of the Z. Smith Reynolds Library.



*Minimum Qualifications*: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in
Library Science from an ALA accredited program. One to two years experience
providing information literacy instruction, preferably in a for-credit
environment.  Knowledge of and experience with information literacy best
practices. Excellent written and oral communications skills are essential.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.



*Desired Qualifications*: Experience in academic library reference and
instruction; experience delivering library instruction online and in
person; strong computer skills;



*Salary and Rank:* Salary is commensurate with qualifications and
experience. Position is appointed to Library Faculty ranks as established
by Wake Forest University. Rank at appointment is based on the successful
applicant’s experience and relevant credentials.
