Check out the numbers in the message below from the event organizer. Those of us who manned the CHAOS table on Saturday can believe it - it was packed! We'll show you what we presented at the CHAOS meeting Tues. Feb.8. The meeting will be in the science classroom down the hall that we sometimes use rather than the Slant Room. Follow the signs. The speaker will be Jayme Hanzak who will present "An Amateur Astronomer's Trip to the Southern Hemisphere."

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I want to take a quick moment to thank you, the exhibit and activity leaders, for the wonderful contributions you made to Astronomy Days 2005. The Museum truly appreciates your efforts and hopes you feel the experience was a good one for you individually and for the many organizations you represent. Despite the dire forecasts for the winter storm, over 7,200 people came to the Museum Saturday. Another 5,200+ came Sunday, producing an event total of nearly 12,500 visitors, far more than we had hoped for given the weather situation going into the weekend. Please pass the Museum's compliments to everyone you organized or brought with you.

We'd love to have all of you back next year, when the Museum presents Astronomy Days on Saturday and Sunday, January 28 and 29, 2006. Mark your calendars! In the meantime, if you have any ideas regarding exhibits, activities, or presentations, thoughts on how the Museum could do its part a little better, or suggestions of other organizations you feel would be good additions to the mix, please send them my way.

To The Moon, Alice!

Bob
