[Chaos-l] John Dobson talk at Morehead last night

Hey, hope some of y'all were there. He spoke, in a Q & A format, on his 
theory of Cosmology of the observable Universe! Basically, his view is of 
an endless recycling/renewable universe, citing basic quantum physics, 
Pauli Exclusion Principle, Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle & Einstein's 
E=MC². In short, all is energy. Sometimes in the forms with mass (protons & 
electrons), sometimes as radiation. He points out that most of Cosmology is 
theoretical since we cannot actually observe much of the distant Universe 
but that such theories are valid until disproved while actual proof is not 
available to us. He was quite dismissive of the Big Bang, etc. & 
substantiated his reasons.
Remarkable man, in his late 80's. founder of a major SF astronomical group, 
& inventor of the Dob telescope which he "has used to show several million 
people where they live!" Regretably, I'll miss tonight's meeting; we have 
tickets to Playmakers Theatre.
