The South Hill sky-clock (http://cleardarksky.com/c/SthHllVAkey.html?1)
shows clear skies from about 6pm local time.  The transparency nosedives
after about midnight, though: maybe some local fog?

It's also quite a drive:

hour and a half, depending on how fast you drive.

Anyone interested?  Any other location suggestions?
