[Chaos-l] Observing Tonight - Probably Not, But We'll See

There is a Morehead Planetarium observing session tonight (the session for
April) that actually occurs during the day! They are gathering near the
sundial at the planetarium to observe the partial solar eclipse that will
occur this evening starting at around 5:30 PM and lasting until
sunset. Given the current cloud cover and predictions on the Clear Sky
Clock, I'm expecting it won't be much of an observing session ... but if it
happens to clear up at the right time and you can bring your telescope and
solar filter to the planetarium, they would love to have us.

We (CHAOS) were planning on leaving from the planetarium's observing
session and driving to the dark sky site tonight for our observing session
... but given the cloud predictions, I don't think that is going to happen
either. I'll check around 4 PM and post something to the listserve either
way. But remember, if our observing session is rained (or clouded) out
tonight, we will switch to Saturday night ... and at the moment, Saturday
night looks pretty good. I've spoken to the people who own the property,
and they are happy to have us come up either tonight or Saturday night. So
expect something on the listserve today, and plan (tentatively) on joining
us at ECHHS at 7 PM (later because of DST) for the drive up to our site
Saturday night.
