Klaus, Dana & I were at Farrington Point Sat. night. Had very good view of
the Pleiades & Mars, including a large dust storm in the center of the
planet! Used my 80mm Celestron refractor & Klaus's S-C 'scope (new?) as
well as Dana's hi-power binoculars. Also saw a popular blue-yellow double
star (name eludes me now!), and Andromeda galaxy, both thx to Klaus. We
could make out some of the Milky Way directly overhead in spite of the
light pollution from Durham, etc. Good weather, no wind, little turbulence,
low 50s°F, no insects, & no traffic other than occaissional aircraft (one
with landing lights on & coming directly at us briefly).
