Everyone,
For those of you who know Kate ...
And think about it ... we can now claim that we have Rhodes Scholars
for guest speakers at our CHAOS meetings!

>Hello!
>
>It is my great pleasure to announce that the founder and former
>president of SpaceTalk, Kate Harris, has been named a 2006 Rhodes
>Scholar, receiving two fully-paid years' worth of tuition and
>incidental expenses to study at the University of Oxford.
>
>Between spending a semester in the McMurdo Dry Valleys of
>Antarctica, being the youngest researcher invited to Utah's
>research-based Mars Station, and biking across the North American
>continent, Kate managed to find enough time to maintain a 3.95 GPA,
>work in UNC professor Dr. Teske's microbial ecology lab, and, of
>course, create UNC's greatest student-run space-education
>organization. (Speaking personally as SpaceTalk's webmaster, I can
>tell you that 98% of what you see on our
>website--www.spacetalk.info--is also entirely to her credit.)
>
>If you see Kate around campus, make sure to congratulate her on this
>very-well-earned achievement. For more information, visit
