Some CHAOS members have expressed interest in observing at the Cornwallis
Rd. site which is between Chapel Hill and Durham and therefore much closer
than our other observing sites (although not as dark). This site is now
officially called the Duke Teaching Observatory and Dr. Ronen Plesser has
regular public observing sessions many Friday nights. He keeps a calendar
with sessions marked and a last minute "go/no go" decision is posted if you
click on the calendar date. Check out his site at
www.cgtp.duke.edu/~plesser/observatory/ to see the calendar. There is no
session this coming Friday but he is planning on being there on Friday Jan.
27 (but check the "go/no go" indicator late next week). We now have
multiple options for monthly group observing so - NO EXCUSES! See you out
there observing. Walter
