Here is a friendly reminder that June 13th is the CHAOS monthly meeting. I
would like to encourage all of our members to attend.
This month Jupiter is truly the reigning king of the night sky. If you
haven't taken a good look at the King of the planets, I want to highly
encourage you. Even through the thin clouds it's a worthy celestial object
This month's presenter, Bryan Henry, is continuing his webcam imaging
series. Bryan is going to demonstrate the image processing of his latest
images of Jupiter. If you have ever seen his webcam images, I'm sure that
your breath is taken with the detail he captures with his equipment.
This is the perfect meeting to attend if you are at all interested in
imaging our neighboring planets or to learn how images are processed to
create these stunning images. Mark Tuesday, June 13th off on your calendar
as a must see CHAOS meeting.
June is also the month that we collect our yearly dues. Why do we try
collecting dues in June. This helps to eliminate trying to keep up with
whose dues are due when. It simplifies things.
So if your a member of CHAOS, I hope that you renew. If your not a member
at the moment and you are on the Listserver, I strongly recommend that you
join CHAOS. Membership allows you to receive the monthly Newsletter,
attend the meetings and join other Amateur Astronomers at our Dark Sky
Site near Virginia. You can also receive a discount on monthly astronomy
magazines. Doing and Sharing astronomy is much more fun than just reading
about astronomy. Plus, when you hang out with other astronomers, what you
learn is out of this world.
I hope to see everyone on Tuesday.
Clear Skies!
Jayme Hanzak
President
