As most (if not all) of you already know, I am the editor of "CHAOS
Sightings" ... the club's monthly newsletter. Each month I try to
include information about upcoming club activities, important
celestial events, some observational help (thanks to Jon
Stewart-Taylor for recent articles, but other members like Peter
Smith have contributed in the past), classes at the Morehead
Planetarium, and usually an article about NASA's programs or other discovery.

The newsletter is meant to be both a service *to* the club, and a
means by which members of the club can contribute as well. Trust
me, there is a lot of knowledge and expertise among our membership
... and if there is anyone out there that would like to contribute an
article (such as a report of a trip you've made involving astronomy),
a list of observation targets, an advertisement for some equipment
they would like to sell or trade, or almost any other topic that is
of interest to the club, I would be happy to try to include it in the
newsletter.

Don't be shy ... and don't worry about when you submit it (there is
always another newsletter within a month) or how you submit it. I
am happy to take input in hardcopy, as Microsoft Word documents, even
as photographs (I have a scanner that would be able to include them
in the newsletter).

I've even included a poem ...

If you have softcopy, just send it to robertnielsen at nc.rr.com ... or
if you have hardcopy, just mail it to me at 413 Landerwood Lane,
Chapel Hill, NC 27517. The more contributions we get from more
members, the more the newsletter reflects the needs of the club!
