[Chaos-l] 37th Anniverary

Well... I was still hypothetical, but not for all that long. My
newlywed parents went to the Cape to watch the launch and made it back
home to Huntsville in time to watch the moon walk. Of course, having
been raised in Huntsville, I soaked up a bit of space exploration
history and rocket science along the way. The first launch I
remember is the Apollo launch for the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project on
July 15, 1975. I was 2, but Dad impressed its importance on me, and a
year or two later I went to preschool and argued with a classmate over
whether the countdown started at 5 or 10 seconds prior to launch.
Little did we realize it goes on for days without someone announcing
each second!
