[Chaos-l] Nikon D50 or Pentax K100D for Astrophotography

Anyone have any thoughts? I am in the market for an entry-level DSLR
(mostly for other purposes) but through I would see if anyone had any
strong opinions regarding use for astrophotography since I may use it
for that some time. I realize probably nobody has used the Pentax at
all since it's new. It does have a true bulb mode, mirror lock-up, and
support for a cable switch though, which the Nikon does not. I'm
leaning towards the Pentax due to the image stabilization and my
existing investment in Pentax glass and telescope adapters, and the
exceptional lens compatibility (it works with any Pentax lens ever made,
including their medium format lenses). If anyone has any reports on the
Pentax IST series DSLR's, the new ones are improved follow-ons, so such
reports would be of value.

Steve
