Mark,
A friend named Allen has imaged M51 just fine at Jordan Lake with his DSI.

I like the east side of the field (immediate left as you go in) because there are LESS blinding flood lights on you than the other side.  The downside is the trees block some rising constellations, but the upside if you are focusing on meridian objects as well as objects 30-degrees and higher from the horizon, then I think you are good to image.
