[Chaos-l] need a telescope

Hi Walter.  I was wondering if you could give us some more info on the
Friday event. I went to the web pages you reference below, and read the
calendar entry:

   Title:  Stargazing at WCPE 10pm 
   Date / Time:  12/15/2006 
   Location:  WCPE Rolesville 
   Description:  Enjoy a Friday family evening of stargazing and meteor
showers
   at WCPE Rolesville. Wear warm clothes for this outdoor event. Bring
along
   telescopes, chairs, sleeping bags, and food to sustain you. 
   We shall need an idea of how many folks to expect.

There were no other observing sessions on the calendar for 2006.  Can we
assume this will be a relatively astro-novice crowd?  Do we know if
anyone else will have a 'scope there? Any guestimates (to the nearest 20
or so people) as to the size of the crowd?  Is this really an all-night
session?

I also looked at the map, both on the web page and at googlemap.  It
appears to be in a relatively undeveloped section about 10-15 miles
northeast of Raleigh.  Any idea what the sky conditions are like there?
How about local lighting, such as street-lights etc?
