As Robert said in his earlier email, last night was a great success for
all astronomy enthusiasts. CHAOS and the Morehead Planetarium arrived 40
to 30 minutes early and there were people already there waiting to see the
eclipse event.
We had a great time sharing the night skies with the crowd of 75 that
showed up at East Chapel Hill High School. Even with the delayed
appearance of the Moon, we were still able to show the wonders of the sky.
Everyone was amazed at what they saw and lined up eagerly to see what the
next telescope was pointed at. This is the pure joy of amateur astronomy.
Sharing the skies.
I would like to encourage everyone to come out the the Little River
observing session this weekend and share your hobby. You really don't have
to be an expert, just have fun talking about what you know. So come on out
this weekend and have fun star sharing.
Clear Skies!
Jayme
