[Chaos-l] rocket science

Is it true that the speaker for the CHAOS meeting next Tues. June 12
is a *rocket
scientist*?  Yes, it will be *Alan Whitmore* of the *Triangle Rocketry
Club*who has been "living the dream" of all amateur astronomers - not
just to
look at cool stuff but to make the first attempts to "go there."  We've been
rubbing shoulders with Alan at all sorts of outreach events, such as
Creekside Elementary School Science Day and Astronomy Days in Raleigh, and
it will be great to hear about his experiences in detail.  He has
*videos*as well as
*model rockets that may be up to 12 ft. tall*.  These guys are serious!
