[Chaos-l] Minutes for June CHAOS meeting

The dozen or so rocket aficianados (?sp) were treated to the flashes and
roars of several rocket launches on video, as well as several "lauchpad
mishaps" which were equally spectacular.  Our speaker Alan Whitmore is about
as expert as you can get outside of NASA and even treated us to photos of
his trip to the Mecca of amateur rocketry on a desert plain in Nevada.
These guys are serious!  So serious, that they have started to run into the
Dept. of Homeland Security as "hobbyists of interest!"  It's a sad state of
affairs but it may lead to considerable scaling back.  Alan will let us know
when his group plans another group launch in the area.  He says that
everyone will be welcome.  Walter
