[Chaos-l] Have vintage telescope will rehab

What a great meeting we had at Jayme Hanzak's last night.  12 telescope
builders, tweekers and techno-gizmo wannabes showed up wanting to be part of
this major restoration project.  Hillsborough amateur astronomer Alex
Armstrong was a hit, telling us that he (and many other) young teenagers
lusted after the "Criterion-style" 8 inch reflectors in the '60's but
couldn't afford one.  Now he was looking at 5 of them.  He told us that all
5 had to be restored and that he would help us.  Let's get started!  The
evening being dark and fairly clear, we drug out one of the 8 inchers as
well as several other scopes that just happened to be in people's trunks to
peruse/pursue the wonders of the Cedar Grove sky.  All agreed that Jayme had
a nice backyard and a nice observatory.  We also agreed that Jayme should
have more meetings at his house.  More about that later.  Thanks for coming,
