I spent a few hours last night looking at Jupiter and other objects in the
heavens. For a late hot summer night, the sky was nice and clear. I had my
first Perseid shoot through the sky to tantalize my soul. I can't wait for
the show this weekend.

Our club meeting is coming up this Tuesday. Bring your telescope. Alex
Armstrong is going to be our speaker and he is going to talk about
Tweaking your telescope for optimum performance.

Alex took one of the Duke telescopes and tweaked it to give us some
impressive views of Saturn and Jupiter. This was done with a mirror that
needs some re-silvering badly. He did it in a relatively timely fashion.

So bring your telescope and Alex may help you optimize your viewing.

Our meeting begins at 7pm at Carol Woods in Chapel Hill.

Clear skies!
Keep Cool!
