Greetings every one.
Last night's meeting was well attended with approximately 15-20 people.
Alex Armstrong was our speaker. He told us about ways to improve our
viewing experience. The poor seeing that we see through our telescopes is
not poor optics but less than perfect alignment or not ideal observing
conditions. He told us that filters were also a useful tool to sharpen the
contrast from planets and nebula to the black of space.
After the meeting, Alex helped a couple of members collimate their
telescopes to the "WOW!" point.
Thanks Alex for your presentation.
Our September meeting is our club picnic. This is open to all current paid
members of CHAOS. The picnic will be held Saturday, September 15th, not
September 18th as I said last night. More details will be forth coming.
Clear Skies,
Jayme
