[Chaos-l] Lighting ordinance in Chapel Hill

*It has just come to my attention that the Chapel Hill Town Council, at 
their meeting next Monday night, will be responding to a student request 
for increased lighting at intersections. I've attached a link to the 
draft agenda below. Look for 4 h.

I will be out of town on Monday, but perhaps one of you will be so kind 
as to speak up for our night skies.

 From the lighting tour I attended this spring with university workers 
and students, it seemed that the issue was often that light levels were 
so high along some corridors that there was a perception of dim lighting 
in areas that were lit more comfortably and naturally.
The other issue, of course, is smart lighting - that illuminates the 
walkways instead of the sky.
