[Chaos-l] Comet Observing

It is such an easy object to find, even for me. The pictures are AMAZING.
Even a camera with an f2.8 of f4 lens would work great. I have not exposed
for more than 20 seconds. Some exposures have been for 10 seconds, and the
stars appear through the coma. Binocular viewing is superb.

Comet Holmes is definitely worth checking out. It is visible with the naked
eye from my driveway and looks good through binoculars or small scope, esp.
before the moon comes up. I think it's growing a little tail but that may
be wishful thinking. Everyone should take a look and let me know what you
think! It's easy to find, just below Cassiopia and it's not moving much
night to night, meaning it's headed our way. Walter

If anyone is interested in going out to the Farrington Boat Ramp at some
point during the week to check out Comet Holmes (or anything else that
interests you) let me know. I was considering going out maybe Wednesday
night, the moon won't be rising until around 10:30 and the angular
separation between the comet and the moon will be around 45degrees, so
hopefully it wont diminish the viewing too much.

Take it easy,
Cameron
