Our original vision is to offer a telescope to several high schools in the
area. The fear there is that they will be put into a corner and forgotten
and we waisted our time. Morehead has an observing deck where they use
several 3.5" telescopes for their astronomy classes. We could give them a
couple of 8" scope. We may sell one or two to generate some funds for the
club and to help pay for the cost of refurbishing. 

We would like to keep one or two as club scopes as well. We would need to
retrofit a Dobsonian mount to the current telescope bracket, but I think
we can easily do it so that we can use either style mount. These classic
telescopes would be fun to use during our community out reach.

Just a couple of ideas. Not written in stone by any means and by all
means, open for discussion.

Not a firm cost from a coating company that we want to use. I'll get one
as soon as I can.
