Greetings everyone,

Kumar, you are correct, We need to let you all know how it went.

Actually it was COLD!!!! However, The skies were wonderful and the cold didn't keep the enthusiastic residents away. We had about 20 - 30 people through out the night. We explained telescopes and how to use them to those that brought their telescopes with them and we showed others where to look for some of the winter object.

Here are some of the emails Larry Crum, who organized the evening, received;

Thanks to Larry Crum who organized our skywatching event last night. Although/Because it was chilly, the sky was beautifully clear. Sure puts into perspective our little speck in the universe.

There were 5+ telescopes set up, CHAOS folks eager to answer questions and point out wonders in the sky. Two women from Morehead Planetarium were also on hand to answer questions.

Thanks again, Larry. And I encourage families to bring their kids to view this majesty if it happens again.

    ...I brought my kids (9 and 11) and the telescope folk were excellent at getting them to see and understand what they were looking at. Thank you. ~ catherine

    ...BTW: the star gazing last night was wonderful. I was particularly thrilled by the Orion Nebula. ~ catherine

These are just a couple of the emails Larry received. I had a great time talking to everyone and I am looking forward to doing it again.

Anyone else?

Clear skies!

Jayme
