Hi,
I just got in. To say the least I'm quite disappointed that I
couldn't observe, but mostly concerned about our use of Farrington
Point in the future.
Let me explain what happened:

As i was setting up my equipment, a ranger drove right up on to my
vehicle with his front lights blinding me. He walked up and asked me
what I was doing.
I said, "I'm going to look through my telescope."
He said, "You've got to pack up your stuff and leave this area."
I was shocked and explained I've been coming here for some time now
including folks from CHAOS.
He said that he was informed the policy is: "this is a boat ramp
access only for boaters and no one else."
I respectfully said, "I don't think it's fair boaters should have all
the fun with their hobby and astronomers can't."
He said, "I'm sorry sir."
I said under my breath, "Fiddly-stix" not. :)

****
I'm hoping that we haven't lost the right to use this area for
amateur astronomy! ... has the policy changed? or is this a new
ranger who doesn't know about CHAOS and MPSC?
Anyway, does anyone know the head ranger of Jordan Lake?
Any feedback for us avid Farrington Pt users would be appreciated!
Mark
