Michael,

As I remember the article, the area of Jordan Lake that was previously 
used to watch bald eagles nesting and such was found to have lots of 
people milling around and having "fun" late at night.   I can't remember 
whether there was actually any *prostitution" involved ... but you get 
the idea.   I remember going there once a few years ago, and because the 
area is wooded and there are trails leading through the woods to the 
lake, there are lots of places to "have fun".   I think the Fish and 
Wildlife folks actually *closed* this area on Jordan Lake, because of 
the trouble ... upsetting the bird watchers out there.

I think the folks who are in charge of keeping the area safe around 
Jordan Lake got slapped for not patrolling all the areas all the time 
and keeping this sort of thing from happening, hence the ranger at 
Farrington Pt.
