[Chaos-l] First objects?

I've never owned anything near this big, and I don't know the spring 
sky.  I do own both volumes of The Night Sky Observer's Guide, and I can 
star-hop to new objects pretty well.

What objects should I look at first?  The seeing will probably be 
average at best.  Imagine you've only been into astronomy for 9 months, 
and you've thus far viewed primarily through an 8" budget dob.  Now you 
have 5 times the light gathering power, and so much to see!  Where to begin?
