[Chaos-l] Solar Observing

CHAOS friends,
I am investigating the possibility of solar observing at an upcoming 
MPSC Family Science Day on August 2.
The Sun will be our focus and we'll have lots of activities about our 
star, Sun safety, harnessing the Sun's energy, etc.

Several of you have talked to me before about solar observing. I'd like 
to re-open that conversation.
How might we go about safe solar observing?
Does someone have a solar telescope? Would you prefer projection? If we 
use a solar filter, how do we communicate clearly and forcefully to our 
visitors that we are using specialized equipment and no one should ever 
observe the Sun directly through a telescope?

Anyone interested in having a conversation with me about this?
