I am a RAC member and wish to come speak to CHOAS about an upcoming
FREE Star Party for Scouts down at Camp Durant near Robbins. 2009 is
the International Year of Astronomy and with such awesome Astronomy
Clubs in NC, and University support the Boy Scouts of America has
choosen our Hemlock District Camporee as the nation's premier district
for celebrating this event. This will be an internationally
web-broadcast live event! It will be April 24-26, 2009 and I am
inviting ALL known organized astronomy clubs within 1.5 hour drive of
Robbins. 500 kids ages 12-18, adults and volunteers will attend. The
focus of this event is Astronomy and celebration of the 400th
Anniversary of the Invention of the Telescope.

As part of this event, "Shooting For the Stars" theme for the Boy
Scouts of America (BSA), we will simulcast live images from The
Netherlands, Italy, Australia and other neat things with the main
effort being Clubs like Chaos bringing telescopes to allow kids to see
the wonders of astronomy. I'd like to come detail the plans,
facilities, schedule, etc. to your club in early November. If you are
interested please respond to:
