Hi all. Michael H., Kumar P, and i did manage to get in a couple of
hours of pre-moonrise observing on what proved to be a very nice night
indeed. The Milky Way was as nicely defined as i'd ever seen it from
Farrington. The night wasn't particularly steady (Jupiter was a bit
fuzzy), but was very transparent. In addition to the usual tourist
traps (which all looked very nice) i managed to track down 7009 (Saturn
nebula), mu Cephi (which i incorrectly remembered as a carbon star: it's
"just" a red supergiant; S Cephi is the carbon star) and a batch of the
Cepheus open clusters.
A very nice night.
J.
PS: Kumar, i accidently kept your flashlight. Let me know if/when you
need it back!
