Speaking of impromptu observing, I noticed that our Jordan Lake permit goes 
thru early January 2009. 

Am I reading it right? I have only been there briefly on a few occassions, 
but it has provided me some wonderful miky way moments under a much better 
sky than Durham near I40. And only less than half an hour away.
